Brazil midfielder Willian risked the wrath of the Arsenal fans as he appeared to ‘like’ Chelsea’s Instagram post celebrating their 2-0 win over the Gunners at the Emirates on Sunday.
First-half goals from Romelu Lukaku and Reece James made it two defeats from two at the start of the season for Mikel Arteta’s side, stoking fears of another underwhelming campaign from the Gunners this season.
Angry fans booed around the stadium at half-time and full-time from with the hashtag #ArtetaOut already trending on social media.
To add insult to the injury, Willian, who moved to Arsenal from Chelsea last season, appeared to like their post on social media after the game.
The caption on the picture read: “Imagine not being Chelsea.”
Willian, 32, spent seven seasons at Stamford Bridge before joining Arsenal at the start of last season on a free transfer.
The Gunners signed him to a huge three-year contract worth around £250,000-a-week.
He had a poor first season, scoring just one goal, and the club have been trying to offload him all summer.
The Brazilian has been unavailable for Mikel Arteta in the first two games of the season after he tested positive for coronavirus.
