Kate Henshaw has called out the Nigerian government on her Twitter following reports that the Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution at the Lagos Court of Arbitration finally agreed that a massacre happened during the Lekki 2020 Toll Gate shooting.
In their report, which took more than a year to produce, the panel accused Nigerian Army officers of having “shot, injured and killed unarmed helpless and defenseless protesters, without provocation or justification, while they were waving the Nigerian Flag and singing the national anthem and the manner of assault and killing could in context be described as a massacre.”
This has spurred heated reactions on social media, with celebrities like Kate Henshaw calling out the government for dismissing critics as “mad.”
“There was a LIVE recording of the incident but they legit tried to make it seem like we were mad!! Who dey mad now????” she wrote.
