Venus Williams has read the press for filth at the 2021 French Open, letting them know why she’s never struggled at press conferences.
Speaking a day after Naomi Osaka withdrew from the clay court major amid the nasty row with the organisers who fined her for boycotting press conferences, Williams told the press that she’d never had issues with issues conducting press conferences and that’s because she is better than those journalists who ask athletes horrible questions.
“For me, personally, how I deal with it was that I know every single person asking me a question can’t play as well as I can and never will,” she said.
“So no matter what you say or what you write, you’ll never light a candle to me. That’s how I deal with it. But each person deals with it differently,” she added.
