Yet to be identified gunmen have yet again targeted an office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This comes weeks after INEC chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, lamented the spate of attacks on offices of the electoral umpire, which, according to him, may hinder their ability to carry out elections in the future.
The latest attack comes with the south-east region on the edge following the brutal murder of Ahmed Gulak, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.
While no group has claimed responsibility for the burning of INEC offices, intelligence agencies allude the attacks to members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
