Senator Shehu Sani has lashed out at those who condemned the late Afenifere spokesman, Yinka Odumakin, in his life but are showering him praises after his demise.
Odumakin passed away on Saturday at an intensive care unit in Lagos State after previously battling COVID-19.
Tributes have poured in from all quarters following news of his demise, with the President, Maj Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd), who is on medical leave in London, United Kingdom, also sending a condolence message.
However, Sani, in a statement on his verified Twitter handle on Sunday berated politicians for shedding crocodile tears.
The former legislator suggested that the late Odumakin was viewed as an irritant and was defamed for statements he made while he was still alive.
He said: “They castigated, vilified and defame the man (Odumakin) for every statement he made; they viewed him as a thorn and an irritant on their path, they never called him or pick his calls. They are praising him when he is dead.”
