The Music Video Everyone is Talking About: “Lil Nas X’s “Montero”

Lil Nas X has released a new single everyone is now talking about, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” which comes with a provocative, self-directed video with Tanu Muino.

Along with the single, Lil Nas X also posted a letter addressed to his 14-year-old self, in which he talks about the song’s inspiration–“It’s about a guy I met last summer”) as well as the rapper’s past struggles with coming out as queer. In this way, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”

The song is a catchy rhythmic-pop track, and accompanied with an eye-popping music video that involves a devilish lap dance.

This comes after Nas X’s longest-running Hot 100 No. 1 hit in history, “Old Town Road.”
