Saweetie Addresses the Quavo Elevator Incident in New Statement

Saweetie has finally addressed the video of her elevator altercation with rapper Quavo that got everyone talking.

“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on,” Saweetie’s spokesperson shared in a statement on her behalf, per Complex. “I kindly ask that everyone respect my privacy during this time.”

Recall that the footage, which reportedly was captured in 2020, shows the former couple in a physical altercation in an elevator. Saweetie appears to take a swing at Quavo as she attempts to remove a gaming console from the elevator, but the Migos rapper retrieves the case by grabbing her arms and shoving her back in the elevator, toppling her over. Quavo then stands in front of the elevator door in an apparent effort to stop her from leaving. The elevator door opens seconds later, and Quavo exits before placing the case in the doorway. Saweetie eventually stands and exits slowly behind her him.

TMZ says that the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the video and are seeking to speak with both parties to determine what exactly happened in the moments leading up to the physical altercation.

This video comes right after Saweetie confirmed her split with Quavo.

The duo reportedly began dating in 2018.
