Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has raised the alarm over a plan by men of the Nigerian Army to carry out attacks on certain areas in Imo State.
Kanu, in a tweet on Wednesday, called on residents of Mbaise Mbano and Obowo axes of the state to be at alert as there were reports that drones and army personnel had been deployed to the areas.
He also alleged that the soldiers were advancing with many Hilux vans to the aforementioned areas.
His tweet read, “Danger! There is a confirmed report of sightings of @HQNigerianArmy drone over Mbaise, Mbano & Obowo with many Hilux Vans moving into these areas right now. Men MUST be at alert to repel these terrorists in uniform. Imo State is the battleground. We must defend our land!”

Kanu however did not state the source of his information.
Earlier in February, military fighter jets conducted aerial strikes in parts of Imo and Akwa Ibom states in efforts aimed at dislodging the Eastern Security Network operatives following an explosion of attacks on security formations in the south-east.
A fortnight ago, Ikonso, ESN commander, was killed in a predawn raid by a combined team of security personnel.
IPOB had vowed vengeance against the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma over the murder.
