PM Johnson gets Covid jab

UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, on Friday, received his first Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine dose.

Jonson got the jab at London’s St Thomas’ hospital, where he was treated in intensive care having contracted the virus in 2020.

Moments after receiving his first dose, the PM uploaded a photo of himself during the inoculation with his left shirtsleeve rolled up to the shoulder.

“I’ve just received my first Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine dose. Thank you to all of the incredible scientists, NHS staff and volunteers who helped make this happen. Getting the jab is the best thing we can do to get back to the lives we miss so much. Let’s get the jab done,” he tweeted.

Speaking to reporters after his inoculation, Johnson “I literally did not feel a thing and so it was very good, very quick and – you know what I’m going to say – I cannot recommend it too highly,” Johnson told reporters as he left.

The 56-year-old then urged everyone to get their dose as soon as possible.

“Everybody when you get your notification to go for a jab, please go and get it. It’s the best thing for you, the best thing for your family, and for everybody else,” he added.

The PM is among more than 26 million people in the UK who have received at least their first dose of a vaccine, Guardian writes.
