No fewer than one person has been reported dead when gunmen stormed Islamiyya school, Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State and abducted about 200 students on Sunday.
The sad incident comes after the release of the remaining 14 abducted students of Greenfield University in Kaduna after they regained freedom on Saturday after 40 days in the kidnappers’ den.
The freed students have reunited with their parents who also confirmed that they paid huge ransom to secure their release from the marauding bandits.
According to Vanguard, the hoodlums stormed the Niger community at about 4:30pm and left behind a victim who sources said was in critical condition after he was injured in the course of the abduction.
As of the time of filing this report, no ransom demand has been made by the bandits.
