Reports coming out of Jos, the Plateau State capital say a housewife was on Thursday night abducted by suspected gunmen raided the staff quarters of Yakubu Gowon Airport, also known as Jos Airport, in the Heipang area of the state.
Sources say the gunmen gained entrance into the quarters Thursday night and started shooting sporadically – to the horror of residents and passersby.
It is understood that three people – a married couple and a staff at the airport – were initially abducted by the bandits but two escaped from the gunmen leaving the woman behind.
The Plateau State police command has yet to issue a statement confirming the latest breach of security in the state, which has experienced numerous attacks by gunmen down the years.
