Netflix Axes Jupiter’s Legacy, Will Not Be Returning for Season 2

Netflix has decided to end its new series, Jupiter’s Legacy after just one season.

The series creator made the announcement in a tweet on Wednesday, revealing that the Josh Duhamel led series will not be returning to the streaming giant.

Mark Millar noted instead that he will be exploring a live-action adaptation of ‘Supercrooks’ which takes place in the same fictional world but focuses on villains and already has a series order from Netflix.

“I’m really proud of what the team achieved with Jupiter’s Legacy and the amazing work everyone did on that origin season.

“I’ve been asked a lot about what we’re planning next with this world, and the answer is to see what the super-villains are getting up to,” he wrote in his statement.

The end of Jupiter’s Legacy comes about four weeks after its May 7 premiere. Netflix doesn’t regularly share audience figures for its titles; the series, helmed by Daredevil‘s Steven S. DeKnight, earned mostly negative reviews.

The first season of Jupiter’s Legacy ended on a cliffhanger teasing the audience hence its cancellation will come as a surprise to audiences.
