Manhunt underway as teenager stabs brother to death on Osun

The Osun State Police Command on Wednesday launched a manhunt for 18-year-old Lekan Odetayo, who allegedly stabbed his elder brother, Toheeb, to death after a misunderstanding.

21-year-old Toheeb was allegedly killed at their residence in Modakeke after a misunderstanding which degenerated into a fight, witnesses say.

The state Public Relations Officers, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident, saying: “One Kazeem Odetayo of Ifedapo area, Modakeke, reported to the police that his two male children, Lekan Odetayo, 18, and Toheeb Odetayo, 21, fought each other in the house over an issue pertaining to errands.

“He said Lekan allegedly stabbed his brother, Toheeb, in the neck region leading to his instant death. Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspect.”

Opalola noted that detectives had visited the scene, adding that one bloodstained kitchen knife was recovered.
