Hundreds of youths defied police warning and trooped out in Ibadan the Oyo State Capital on Saturday to stage protest against the alleged bad governance of the President, Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd).
The aggrieved youths gathered at Mokola armed with banners and Nigerian flags chanting songs and declaring their support for democracy.
Various groups of protesters merged under the bridge where heavily armed policemen, soldiers, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were stationed.
The protesters sang and chanted ‘Buhari must go’ in the presence of the security men for some minutes before they turned and moved towards Sango, Punch reports.
The protest was generally peaceful as there were no incidents of confrontation with the authorities or infiltration by other groups.
