Johnny Depp’s team has nipped the rumours making rounds that he was offered $301 million to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean.
Yesterday, a report surfaced claiming he was working on a deal to return to the movie franchise. “Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp,” a source told PopTopic. “They are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”
This stirred excitement among Depp fans.
But the actor’s team has said it is all a lie. “This is made up,” a rep told NBC, per E!
And this comes after the actor told the jury at a Virginia Court hearing (his defamation case with his ex-wife Amber Heard, which he won) that he would never return to the franchise because of how unkindly they treated him after Heard accused him of domestic and sexual violence.
