Instagram deletes Adamu Garba’s account

Photo-sharing app Instagram has deleted the account of a former Presidential Aspirant, Adamu Garba.

This comes shortly after Google deleted his Crowwe app from the Google Play Store over accusations of plagiarism and horrible reviews.

Reacting to the development, Garba said he had requested that the Crowwe app be deleted.

Now, Instagram has also deleted Mr Garba’s IG account, with his page displaying ‘the user not found.’

While it is not yet clear why the decision was reached, Instagram is known for banning accounts that violate its policy or reported for spam, fraud, or a fake account.

Mr Garba, in a chat with newsmen on Wednesday morning said that Instagram took down his account because some users reported him.

“It was reported by some users and was disabled by Instagram,” he said.

Garba had drawn the ire of Nigerians for prodding the president, Muhammadu Buhari, to ban Twitter after his post was deleted from the site.

Shortly after the controversial Twitter ban was announced, some media aides of the president had urged Nigerians to open a Crowwe account.
