Gov Sanwo-Olu signs anti-open grazing bill into law

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has signed the bill prohibiting open grazing in Lagos into law.

This was disclosed in a social media post by Wale Ajetunmobi, the governor’s aide on print media, saying he assented to the bill at the Lagos House on Monday.

The post reads, “Breaking! Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, this afternoon, signed the bill prohibiting open cattle grazing in Lagos into law”.

The development comes as governors across the country give assent to the same law as a means of tackling menace of armed Fulani herders.

Some of the governors who recently signed the anti-open grazing bill into law include Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State.
