Fans thrilled as Euros return with Belgium v Italy, Spain v Switzerland

World no 1 ranked side Belgium will today take on Italy as fans eagerly look forward to the first Euro 2020 quarter-finals.

Belgium ground out a 1-0 win over holders Portugal in the last 16 to set up the mouthwatering clash against the Azzurris, who were 2-1 winners over hard-fighting Austria.

Both sides – with 100 per cent records so far at the tournament will meet in Munich, with Belgium having major injury doubts surrounding superstar forwards, Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne.

The first quarter-final in St Petersburg pits Switzerland, the conquerors of world champions France, against free-scoring Spain.

The Spaniards, three time European champions, began the tournament slowly with two draws but then thumped Slovakia 5-0 and Croatia 5-3 after extra-time in the last 16.

Luis Enrique’s La Roja are aiming for a first trophy since back to back European triumphs in 2008 and 2012.
