The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele is allegedly nursing gubernatorial ambitions for 2023.
Sahara Reporters allege that the man at the helm of affairs at the country’s apex bank is seeking to become governor of Delta State to avoid being probed.
Emefiele is reported to have sought the support of Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the federation and gotten it in his quest for immunity.
Plans are already in gear to see the CBN governor contest the governorship election in his home state, Delta, come 2023.
It is no secret that in the past few months, Emefiele has received public condemnations and backlash for his involvement in political activities and some policies he has implemented.
