Romelu Lukaku scored on his second Chelsea debut as Thomas Tuchel’s team beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates Sunday.
Lukaku was named in the starting XI after his £97.5m signing from Inter Milan and deservedly shot his side ahead after 15 minutes – sweeping in Reece James’ low cross.
James got the second himself as he slammed the ball into the roof of the net from Mason Mount’s pass after another flowing move from the blustery Blues.
Lukaku, 28, almost made it 3-0 but his header was tipped onto the bar by Bernd Leno as Arsenal clung on in the second half.
Arsenal, missing centre-back Ben White through Covid, have now lost their opening two Premier League matches of the season with questions piling over the future of manager Mikel Arteta.
