Dave Cappelle is catching a lot of flak after he dropped his latest special The Closer on Netflix, in which he declared his support for writer JK Rowling who has been in a fight with trans people before of her gender critical stance.
“They canceled J.K. Rowling. My God,” Chappelle said during the hour-long Netflix special, per The Daily Beast. “Effectually she said gender was a fact, the trans community got mad as (expletive), they started calling her a TERF… I’m Team TERF. I agree. I agree, man. Gender is a fact.”
“Gender is a fact. Every human being in this room, every human being on earth, had to pass through the legs of a woman to be on earth. That is a fact,” he added.
He continued, “Now, I am not saying that to say trans women aren’t women, I am just saying that those pussies that they got … you know what I mean? I’m not saying it’s not pussy, but it’s Beyond Pussy or Impossible Pussy. It tastes like pussy, but that’s not quite what it is, is it? That’s not blood. That’s beet juice.”
This stirred reactions, with trans rights activists calling him out.

Dave Chappelle's brand has become synonymous with ridiculing trans people and other marginalized communities. Negative reviews and viewers loudly condemning his latest special is a message to the industry that audiences don't support platforming anti-LGBTQ diatribes. We agree. https://t.co/yOIyT54819
