Bill Gates and Melinda Gates are officially over.
TMZ reports a judge signed off on the former couple’s divorce on Monday, signaling the end of their 27-year marriage. And this comes nearly three months after they announced their separation.
Per court documents obtained by the news outlet, the duo will get spousal support and additionally, Melinda will not change her last name. The document also states that all property will be divided according to the “Separation Contract,” which ultimately means that Bill and Melinda signed their own private document upon separating that outlines who will end up with what.
Recall that when Bill announced their split, he tweeted this:
“Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and build a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives. We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives. We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life.”
Now they are officially over.
