Spanish giants Barcelona have been named the best club of the past decade.
This was according to a report released by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) on Tuesday.
The IFFHS, founded in1984 in Leipzig, Germany, chronicles history and records of association football.
Barca topped the list 2,877 points, ahead of rivals Real Madrid who ranked 2nd with 2,782 and third-placed Bayern Munich on 2,594 points.
In fourth place is Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid are in fifth position while Serie A heavyweights Juventus are sixth.
Premier League leading sides Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal complete the top 10 on seventh, eight, ninth and 10th respectively.
In a statement released by IFFHS: “FC Barcelona won the CLUB WORLD RANKINGS of the First Decade (2001-2010) and also of the second Decade (2011-2020).”
Founded in 1899, Barcelona have won five UEFA Champions League titles, three FIFA Club World Cups, five UEFA Super Cup trophies, 26 Spanish La Liga tournaments and 30 Copa del Rey titles.
They are famous for favouring stylish short passes and quick movements, referred in Spain as tiki-taka.
Notable Barca players over the past decade include Lionel Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
