Manchester City midfielder, Kevin de Bruyne, has snubbed Chelsea’s Jorginho and named Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski as his favourite to win the 2021 Ballon d’ Or.
De Bruyne said this during a press conference on Monday ahead of Man City’s Champions League clash with Club Brugge on Tuesday evening.
Polish striker Lewandowski will rival Jorginho and Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi, among others for the prestigious award.
“If I have to choose, I’m looking at the two-year period, so I would choose [Robert] Lewandowski for what he has done the last two years, goalscoring wise.
“He would be my pick,” De Bruyne said.
Lewandowski scored 75 goals in 60 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich since the 2019/20 season.
The winner for this year’s Ballon’d Or will be announced on November 29.
