Afcon 2021: Nigeria thrash Lesotho 3-0

The Super Eagles of Nigeria ended their qualification campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with a resounding 3-0 victory over the Crocodiles of Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Tuesday.

Despite already sealing a spot for the tourney scheduled to hold in Cameroon next year, Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr fielded a strong side against already eliminated Lesotho, and there could only be one outcome.

Star striker Victor Osimhen opened the scoring to give the hosts a half-time lead in front of hundreds of fans allowed inside the arena.

Oghenekaro Etebo doubled the Eagles’ lead shortly after the break and substitute Paul Onuachu completed the scoring to make it two goals in as many games for the national side.

Nigeria will be joined in the tournament by the winner of the other group game between Sierra Leone and Benin coming up later tonight.
