2 killed, 8 injured in Benin-Ore highway crash

Two persons were killed while eight others were injured in a road accident at the J4 Ogbere (Ogun State) corridor of the Benin – Ore expressway.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps say the crash, which occurred on Sunday night, involved a bus marked APP86 7XZ and a company truck identified as SAMINO MOTORS with registration number KJA376 XN BENZ.

Superintendent Route Commander of the FRSC, Florence Okpe and Public Education Officer for Sector Commander FRSC Ogun Sector Command, Ahmed Umar, in statement, stated that the suspected cause of the accident was loss of control following speed by one of the involved vehicles.

“A total number of 10 persons were involved(05Male adult and 05 female adult ) number injured 08(03 Male adult 05 Female Adult). Unfortunately, 02 deaths were recorded from the crash 02 male adult)

“The Injured victims were taking to State General Hospital Ijebu-Ode while the dead were deposited at the morgue,” the statement reads.
