Son of the Soil, John Boyega, Spills Deets About Upcoming Star Wars Film!
John Boyega continues to make Nigeria proud.
Yesterday, the proud son of the soil spilled some details on the much-anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is set to hit theatres on December 15.
Boyega described the setting with the cast as “intimate”, adding that the visual effects left him pleasantly surprised. “There was an element where , ‘Okay, cool. I got that that was going to happen from obviously reading the script and being there’. And then there were other elements for me, specifically— just in terms of character— that shocked me,” he told E! News.
The Nigerian who stars as Finn in the franchise, continued, revealing that he had too many fights in the film, which eventually took a toll on his body. “The fight scenes are not glamorous. Sometimes you can get your fingers snapped a little. Sometimes you can get a bit of a knock to the head,” he explained. “But, you know, it is what it is—we’ve got insurance.”
However, he enjoyed every bit of it, just as he is pleased when he spots weird fan merchandise of his character. The strangest of the merch, he said, was seeing his head cropped in fan-made photos.
“Speedos. I’ve seen some tight speedos, man,” John joked. “It got sent to me on Instagram. It was…interesting.”
Boyega made his debut in the franchise as a black Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. His performance was so exceptional it earned him multiple awards, including a Rising Star award at the 2016 BAFTA.
Now he is coming back for more, and we can’t wait to see him flourish!
