Scandal: Rose McGowan Suspended From Twitter for Calling Ben Affleck a Liar

By  |

Rose McGowan, one of the people accusing movie producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, has been suspended from her Twitter following her tweets at Ben Affleck who has been implicated in the scandal.

Recall that Weinstein was exposed by 13 women who revealed the ordeal they endured at the hands of the movie producer, with at least one of them, Asia Argento, accusing him of rape. Speaking about her own experience, Angelina Jolie said she was assaulted by the producer when she was younger, while Gwyneth Paltrow said her ordeal happened 20 years ago.

Also, last night, actress Cara Delevigne wrote a detailed narrative of how the producer forcefully tried to kiss her and attempted to get her to make out with another woman.

The sex scandal has since been catching a lot of fire, with Rose McGowan at the forefront of the battle; the actress pushes for stricter laws that will protect artistes in the industry.

But factors are seemingly working against McGowan, who implicated Ben Affleck in the drama when the actor claimed he had no knowledge of Weinstein’s history of sexual misconduct.

Fuck off,” McGowan tweeted at Affleck, and then proceeded to remind him of his words years ago when she told him of Weinstein’s forceful moves at her.

Affleck himself, who recently apologised to actress Hilarie Burton for groping her breast during an appearance on MTV’s Total Request Live in 2003, has stayed mum. But Rose McGowan is now being punished by Twitter, through the guise of ‘breaking community rules’ for calling out his lie.

Posting on her Instagram, she shared a screenshot of the message she received from Twitter, while asking her fans to be her voice.

Fans are presently online, roasting Twitter for trying to cut off McGowan’s voice, and this have made this sad sexual assault scandal more frightening as many people now feel that large corporations are working to silence victims.

We can’t wait to see how this pans out.
