Mesut Ozil Ready for Shock Manchester United Switch in January
Stunning reports in the Premier League suggest that Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil will be joining Manchester United.
This comes after Arsene Wenger confirmed that the Gunners are open to selling him in the January window to cut their losses.
“Once you are in our kind of situation we have envisaged every kind of solution yes, it’s possible,” the Frenchman said.
The German has remained close to Mourinho after their time together at the Santiago Bernabeu, and has severally been linked with a switch to United.
He’s been locked in contract talks with Arsenal for months, and is some way off agreeing terms with the Gunners.
The Gunners have already offered Ozil – as well as fellow contract rebel Alexis Sanchez – wages of £275,000-a-week, but both players are said to be holding out for close to £350,000-a-week.
Mourinho, meanwhile, has no qualms splashing the cash if it means boosting his chances of bringing the Premier League title back to Old Trafford.
Ozil has been in indifferent form for Arsenal this season with club legend Martin Keown suggesting he’s already left the club mentally, but selling him to a direct rival may prove unpopular at the Emirates.
